As part of our service to the mission of Rotary, District 7570 supports the Zone 33–34 FEED10MILLION program, and our goal is to supply 1,100,000 meals. Our Hunger Initiative includes serving meals at food kitchens; volunteering at food banks; packing or delivering food for backpack programs and Meals on Wheels; participating in Rise Against Hunger, Meals of Hope, and similar packing events; providing funds to partner with other organizations; and collaborating with and donating to local food pantries and regional food banks, in addition to making personal donations.

It is with the goal of providing 1,100,000 meals that the Buena Vista Rotary Club has partnered with author Debbie Maurer in the creation and sale of The Gift of Soup. By adapting soup recipes that she has enjoyed on her travels, Debbie had the vision to create a cookbook whose proceeds would support local food banks. Through her connection with Rotary District 7570 and its 77 Rotary clubs, copies of the cookbook will be sold to the public for $20 each, with $10 of every cookbook sale going back to food banks serving western Virginia and northeast Tennessee. The goal is to raise $100,000 in 2023!

Alleviating hunger is local. All monies raised will stay local for distribution to the food pantries in the communities we serve.
