Meet Debbie Maurer
Debbie was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Second of seven children, she spent as much of her time as she could outdoors, enjoying the seasons with her siblings and friends. Hot soup was always a welcome meal to warm the body and soul, especially on those cold Ohio Winter days. She knew early on that she loved all things of the hearth and home. She spent her college days in Home Economics study while working in the food service industry, whence arose her lifelong interest in cooking, just one among her many artistic talents. Debbie’s lively spirit and love of nature and travel have come together in the writing of this book. Debbie shares her cooking interests and talent with her son, Nathan, who is a culinary professional in his own right. She and her husband currently reside in the Blue Ridge mountains of Central Virginia, hiking and biking among the birds, squirrels, and bears.
